Wedding Wednesday: Q & A Part 1

Due to Covid-19, and not being able to shoot the content I want for Wedding Wednesday right now, I decided to try something a little bit different this time. My first wedding Q&A! I created a little question box on stories the other day, and Nick and I came on an answered a few of the questions you guys asked! I have our answers coming live from us saved onto my Wedding highlight tab on Instagram, but I wanted to also write everything out for you, and include it in this series on the blog for a one stop shop. I plan to do a few more of these throughout the process, so stay tuned! 🙂

QUESTION:

How did you guys meet? And when did you know Nick was the one?

ANSWER:

We met right out of college at our first office job! He was the new IT technician and I was a new Textile Designer, and I constantly kept having so much computer trouble, and he was constantly at my desk every to fix it, haha! One day I slid into his Instagram DM’s, and we began talking! A few weeks later he asked me out for drinks, and the rest is history!

QUESTION:

What are your bridesmaids wearing and what are the colors?

ANSWER:

They will all be wearing floor length dresses! I only have 3 girls, and always wanted mismatching dresses, so I am letting them pick their dress based on however much they want to spend! However, I did assign each girl a color to wear based on what suits them best! We discussed and pre-approved 🙂 The colors will be plum, mauve and lilac! Photo here for inspo.

QUESTION:

Have you picked a venue yet?

ANSWER:

Yes! We are getting married at the Women’s Civic Club in Stone Harbor, NJ on the beach. This is a huge dream of mine and I can’t believe it’s something that can actually work for us. Read all how we picked our wedding venue and date here!

QUESTION:

What stage of the planning process are you in?

ANSWER:

Right now I’m just working on the nitty gritty details of how I want tables to look, and detail decor all around! I’ve been working a lot on our guestbook table. You can follow all my fun ideas on my Pinterest board here! We have almost all of our big vendors booked except a florist, chairs/tables, and I’m not sure about linens yet.

QUESTION:

Are you using a videographer?

ANSWER:

As of right now, no. Our wedding is budget friendly, and if we ended up going with a videographer that would be the most expensive thing so far which even beats food, dress, and venue which is insane to me. I do hear it’s the number one thing brides might regret the most, however I will not regret a budget friendly wedding that didn’t make me go broke just for one day. I would say if we find extra funds in the end, possibly… But at the same time I would also rather spend those extra funds on our honeymoon.

QUESTION:

What wedding traditions are you ditching?

ANSWER:

I showed Nick a few weeks ago the bouquet and garter toss, and he thought it was so raunchy, we decided not do move forward with that, lol. Maybe just the bouquet toss… However, we are also skipping the father/daughter and mother/son dance for personal reasons.

QUESTION:

Is Covid-19 affecting your wedding?

ANSWER:

Nope! I appreciate all the people who have reached out to me about this. Our wedding is next June, so unless something crazy happens, we’re good to go!

QUESTION:

Are you still looking for houses?

ANSWER:

We were until the housing market paused. It’s such a shame because our lease ends shortly, and we are now losing all this time to look to find a new place. We have fallen in love with one or two, but we didn’t end up getting them. We will just have to wait and see what happens when everything subsides.
