With Fall in full swing, there’s no doubt one of our favorite things about the season change is revamping our wardrobe with some new shoes and boots. While the Fall/Winter NYC Fashion Week runway showed us many of the trends we’ll see in the upcoming months, today I wanted to share my personal favorite 3 Fall shoe trends to come straight off the runway from this season. Sometimes paying full price for a new pair of shoes every season can be pretty expensive, but you can also shop at your local Plato’s Closet where you can find a ton of trendy styles and options for only 1/3 of the price!
From boots, to heels, to flats, the trendy chain details on bags and our chunky jewelry have now been brought down to our feet. The chain links add such a nice touch to shoes, and also add that affect of making them look more expensive than we probably bought them for.
When I think of chains on shoes, Gucci’s Princetown Lamb Fur Mules instantly come to mind. I found an amazing look alike which I’ll picture below. Many trends are always derived from these luxury brands, and enter the trickle down effect to many retailers. I’m specifically loving the statement on mules. There are so many ways to style mules. As a fresh alternative to the other neutral picks in your closet, white booties have become the new taupe. Although I personally don’t think taupe booties will ever go out of style, white has definitely taken over this year!
I love the way white booties brighten up an outfit, and that they add fresh, bright, winter/chilly vibes to an outfit if that makes sense. Just as much as black, white is a neutral too. They make an ensemble feel fashion forward and different. I personally love the way they look with florals for the Fall. I’ve been wearing them non-stop, and styled them a few different ways below.
The last trend I’m loving are knee high boots. Tall boots have been a consistent trend every year for almost a decade now. They are an accessory that works for many body types, and body heights. Knee high boots were a must have from 2010-2015, but the trend came very tired, and slowly rose to thigh high boots for the last few years.
I’m happy to tell you that knee high boots are back, and this time, designers/retailers are focusing on heel height. Snakeskin and crocodile texture are specifically trending in this style, but I’m going to stick to normal tan suede.
In the past knee high boots were styled with short dresses, scarves, and cardigans. While some of these are still trendy, keep in mind the heel height has changed making us look slimmer and taller. Th
is year, style your knee high boots with a chunky sweater and some denim, or a fur knit coat and leggings. You can also go the boho route and put them under a skirt to keep your legs warm. Keep your thigh high boots for dresses and skirts! 🙂 Here are a few ways I styled mine:
